Rapaport & P.Major – Idol

Rapaport and P.Major (Peter Farrar) release second single ‘Idol’ Nov 28 from their collaborative album Rap Major out Dec 12. Rap Major is the new Jazz hip hop album by producer, composer and acclaimed Jazz saxophonist Peter Farrar (P. Major) and rapper / guitarist Rapaport to be released through label Low Key Source.

P.Major’s thick sample heavy, analogue beats produced entirely on the MPC4000 are combined with Rapaport’s heartfelt raps around grief, friendship and relationships to create an assured harmonically rich, hip hop album.

The second single ‘Idol’ is a heavy hitting meditation on letting go of expectations as an artist, and acceptance of one’s own journey in life. Other key tracks on the album are ‘Trumpets’, an anthemic celebration of the small wins in life, ‘Pen Game’ a slow build around the craft of writing, and the stripped back letter to an old friend ‘Same Line’.
