CHASM FEAT. RUBI DU & EESAH – WARNING
Sydney producer Chasm returns with his new single ‘Warning’, an uplifting Reggae-infused collaboration featuring Aotearoa’s Bassline Queen Rubi Du and Jamaican artist Eesah.
With more than two decades immersed in music, Chasm has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile producers and collaborators. As a member of Astronomy Class, he produced two ARIA nominated albums, while his extensive production, remix and collaboration credits include Hilltop Hoods, Thundamentals, The Bamboos, David Dallas, Fashawn, Gwen McCrae, Gappy Ranks, Marvin Priest and Blak Twang.
The track showcases Chasm’s love of sample driven production, live instrumentation and Reggae’s ability to deliver a message while keeping the energy high.
“’Warning’ is a sample based beat I chopped up and then had some trumpet and trombone parts played on top of. The chord progression had an uplifting feel to it, so I knew I wanted vocalists that could match that vibe. I’m a big fan of both Rubi Du and Eesah so was an honour to have them both bless the tune.” – Chasm
The pairing of Rubi Du and Eesah brings together two distinctive voices from different corners of the world representing Reggae and Dancehall. Rubi Du recognised as Aotearoa’s Bassline Queen, brings her unmistakable energy and vocal presence, while Jamaica’s Eesah adds his dancehall sensibility and lyrical edge. Together they complement Chasm’s production and reinforce the track’s positive, conscious spirit.
‘Warning’ is the ultimate link up between Sydney, Auckland and Kingston a cross-cultural Reggae collaboration driven by heavyweight production, live instrumentation and artists who know how to turn a message into music.
