CHASM FEAT. RUBI DU & EESAH – WARNING REMIXES
Sydney producer Chasm returns with a remix package for his latest single ‘Warning’, featuring Aotearoa’s Bassline Queen Rubi Du and Jamaican artist Eesah. Expanding on the uplifting original, this remix package features a Dub version from Auckland’s Christoph El Truento and a Jungle remix from Sydney based DJ and producer Chris Munky, plus a Dub from Chasm himself.
With more than two decades immersed in music, Chasm has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile producers and collaborators. As a member of Astronomy Class, he produced two ARIA-nominated albums, with an extensive catalogue of production, remix and collaboration credits spanning Hilltop Hoods, Thundamentals, The Bamboos, David Dallas, Fashawn, Gwen McCrae, Gappy Ranks, Marvin Priest and Blak Twang.
The original ‘Warning’ blended sample driven production and live instrumentation with Reggae’s ability to deliver a message while keeping the energy high, bringing together artists from Sydney, Auckland and Kingston in a cross cultural collaboration rooted in positive and conscious music.
Taking the track in two different directions, Christoph El Truento brings his deep connection to Aotearoa’s underground hip-hop, jazz and experimental scenes to his dub version. A longstanding DJ, beatmaker, producer and musician, El Truento is known for his wide-ranging collaborations, including work with Tom Scott across @Peace, Home Brew and Avantdale Bowling Club, alongside Team Dynamite, Hone Be Good and Brandn Shiraz.
Meanwhile, Chris Munky flips ‘Warning’ into Jungle territory. Bristol raised and Sydney based, Munky operates across Bass Music, Jungle, Hip Hop, Garage and Dub, drawing on his experience as a DJ, producer, MC, radio host, tour manager and label boss to deliver a fresh take on the original.
From the Dub version’s spacious, stripped back rhythms to Jungle’s breakbeat driven energy, the remix package showcases the versatility of Chasm’s production while connecting three distinct approaches to sound system culture.
Chasm’s ‘Warning’ remix package brings together Reggae, Dub and Jungle in a release that celebrates collaboration, reinterpretation and the enduring connections between underground music scenes from Australia, Aotearoa and beyond.
