‘Get Money’ is the first single taken off Rwandan born and New Zealand based Raiza Biza’s new album ‘Pangea’ which is scheduled for a 2023 release.
With his trademark baritone flow alongside a distinct switch up in production courtesy of Taku MusiQ, this track follows a new sound arch drawing inspiration from the African continent and with those changes come a newly found musical freedom.
“This song is about the hustle back home. Everyday waking up early, buying your product, going to the market, setting up, and grinding.” – Raiza Biza.
As one of the first African-New Zealander rappers to gain visibility locally, there was no blueprint to follow. The only point of reference available to come relatively close to his experience and ambition came from American acts.
Having worked with the likes of Oddisee, Sampa The Great, Black Milk, JessB, Melodownz, Hollie Smith, REMI and many more, He has always strived to bridge the gaps of understanding and preservation of his experience in New Zealand, while also supporting his artists on the same mission.
“We, the African diaspora are no longer toddlers in the places we immigrated to. We have an identity and a growing presence.” – Raiza Biza.
